Implementation of a fully integrated digital platform - The Flemish Cross

The Flemish Cross (Het Vlaamse Kruis) is an aid organisation which was founded in 1927. This organization, with branches and cores spread throughout Flanders, ensures with the dedication of hundreds of volunteers every day for (first aid) training, first aid posts, disaster assistance, and medical transport. In 2027, the Flemish Cross will be able to celebrate its hundredth anniversary.

Challenge

Over the past 10 years, The Flemish Cross has implemented four different software systems, and decommissioned them due to the lack of scalability and flexibility these solutions offered. Adapting the existing systems was expensive and time-consuming, which was unacceptable for this organisation operating in a rapidly evolving social and medical environment. The Flemish cross could no longer tolerate software with limited functionality and poor data management. Therefore, the company sought a suitable partner to fully digitise its internal operations, allowing them to care for its patients and community effectively.

The prerequisites were the following:

  • Flexible BPM-tool as support of regular changes in company processes
  • Effortless large scale data migration from a legacy system with more than 50.000 records and over 75.000 invoices that needed to be transferred
